Meet Our Team
Dr. Chloe Starr PT, DPT
Chloe founded The PhysioLab NYC in November 2020. She is both a physical therapist and strength coach at The Lab. She graduated with honors from Touro College School of Health Sciences with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Neuroscience from Wake Forest University.
Chloe’s broad fitness background in soccer, CrossFit, and Olympic Weightlifting has helped shape her treatment approach which involves maximizing movement performance. As an athlete she understands the importance of getting back to your sport or workouts and aims to work with you to minimize disruptions in training as best as possible. She believes the ability to move through full range of motion in various planes is essential to optimizing overall physical health.
Chloe is passionate about her own training as a competitive Olympic weightlifter and has extensive experience working with various barbell athletes (powerlifters, weightlifters, strongmen) as well as runners, triathletes, dancers, gymnasts and yogis. Chloe is dedicated to expanding her knowledge of physical therapy and strength training having taken numerous courses on manual therapy, pelvic health, spinal manipulation, mobility training and has her USAW L2 coaching certification.
She also enjoys traveling, hiking, and eating and is always open for a good book or recipe recommendation.
Dr. Tessia De Mattos PT, DPT, CSCS
Tessia is a full-time physical therapist and strength coach at The PhysioLab NYC. She earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Columbia University and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from New York University (NYU). Tessia practices a patient centered approach in which patients are encouraged to achieve their goals through movement and strengthening.
During her time at NYU, Tessia founded the “Girls Who Lift” club, geared towards helping women feel empowered both in and out of the weight room. She believes the weight room is for everyone, which led her to become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Tessia has extensive experience working with multiple barbell athletes including but not limited to powerlifters, Crossfiters, weightlifters, and bodybuilders.
Tessia continues to stay active as a competitive powerlifter, shredding the pow as a snowboarder, and keeping rhythm as a dancer. Some of her other hobbies include eating her way through NYC and travelling the world.
Dr. Ashli Bottino PT, DPT
Ashli is a part-time physical therapist at The PhysioLab NYC, treating both orthopedic and pelvic floor conditions.
She earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, after completing her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Strength and Conditioning at the University of Delaware.
Ashli’s treatment style is rooted in building strength, mobility, and confidence. She takes a full-body, movement-focused approach to help her patients feel resilient and capable—whether they’re recovering from injury or looking to optimize how they move and feel.
Outside the clinic, Ashli enjoys snowboarding, golfing, and lifting weights. She lives in Jersey City with her tuxedo cat, Sammy.
Madison Baughman OTR/L, CHT
Madison Baughman is a part-time occupational therapist and strength coach at The PhysioLab NYC. She is a lifelong fitness enthusiast who enjoys all movement from CrossFit, to yoga, to running, swimming, and spin. She has channeled her love for physical movement into a career in rehab as an occupational and certified hand therapist, in addition to being a personal trainer and group fitness instructor for CrossFit, weightlifting, and HIIT over the years.
Madison believes in a strong mind-body connection, empowering people mentally and emotionally by pushing their physical limits while working with and getting more in touch with their bodies.
Albert Chun USAW L1
Albert is a part-time strength coach at The Physiolab NYC with over a decade of experience in strength and conditioning, corporate fitness, and personal training. He studied Kinesiology at Pennsylvania State University and leverages a diverse background that includes baseball, football, bodybuilding, powerlifting, CrossFit, and Olympic Weightlifting.
Albert specializes in Olympic Weightlifting, both as a coach and competitive athlete. He was first introduced to the sport through CrossFit, where the technicality and raw power of the lifts captured his interest. He considers Olympic Weightlifting the pinnacle of strength-based fitness due to its demands on explosive force production, coordination, mobility, and stability. As an athlete, Albert is a former New York state record holder and continues to compete at the national level.
Dr. Emily Mobbs PT, DPT
Emily is a full time physical therapist at The PhysioLab NYC. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from New York University and undergraduate degree in biology with honors from George Washington University. Emily holds NSCA Strength and Conditioning and Polestar Pilates Mat level I and II certifications. She also has taken manual therapy courses from the Institute of Physical Art.
Her treatment style returns patients to their passions with pain free movement by resolving restrictions through manual therapy and strengthening movement through exercise.
In her free time, Emily enjoys weight lifting, walking through NYC neighborhoods and doing flying trapeze!
